MHMS Administration, Mrs. Couch, Mrs. Blasko, and I hope that you are all having a wonderful summer. We are busily planning for the upcoming school year as summer continues to tick away. We wanted to update you all on some important upcoming dates and events. Please add these to your calendars, and we look forward to your attendance.

TODAY August 6th @ 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.- MHMS Administrative Community Connection
- Can’t make the July 25th Community Connection or just want to see us again?!?Drop into the Chick-Fil-A at 10975 Johns Hopkins Road, and visit with the MHMS Administrative Team.
- August 29th @ 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.- MHMS New Student Orientation
- Orientation is intended for all students who will be new to Murray Hill Middle School, and their parents/guardians.Parents of rising 6th grade students will have the opportunity to hear from the MHMS Administration, while 6th grade students will meet with 6th grade teachers, receive their class schedules, and have the opportunity to practice opening their lockers. New 7th and 8th grade students and their parents/guardians will receive information from members of the 7th and 8th grade teams.As a special treat, the Kona Ice Truck will be on property, so plan to purchase a sweet treat (and support the MHMS Outdoor Education Field Trip) at the end of orientation.
- August 29th @ 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.- MHMS Open House
- MHMS families are invited to attend our Open House.Food Trucks will be onsite, so bring your folding chairs and plan to spend time with our MHMS school community.Schedules will be distributed to students who attend, and students and families will have the opportunity to practice locating their classrooms, in preparation for the first day of school.
- September 3rd @ 8:15-3:10- First Day of School
- Doors open to students at 8:15 (students obtaining breakfast may enter at 8:10).Students will report directly to their DEN Classes on the first day of school.DEN teachers will send an email to their students prior to the first day of school, so that students know where to report.Student schedules will be distributed/redistributed to all students on the first day of school. Students arriving after 8:25, will be marked as tardy to school.
- September 12th @ 5:45 p.m.- G.T. Orientation
- The HCPSS Middle School Gifted and Talented Program does not just include G.T. level courses; there are many programs that MHMS offers that fall under the Gifted and Talented Program.This orientation is intended for all parents who are interested in learning more about the G.T. offerings at MHMS.
- September 12th @ 6:30 p.m-8:15 p.m.- Back-To-School-Night
- This program is intended for parents (students are encouraged to stay at home).Parents will have the opportunity to follow their students schedule and hear brief presentations from their student’s classroom teachers.
- November 6th-8th- Sixth-Grade Outdoor Education Field Trip
- This amazing three-day field trip, for our sixth-grade students, promotes environmental literacy and encourages team building amongst our 6th grade students.We strongly encourage all students attend. Detailed information will be sent home with students and a Parent Information Night will be held on September 26th at 6:30 p.m.
