Dear MHMS Families, Last night we had the pleasure of recognizing MHMS students at a Virtual Council of Elders Academic Celebration. Each year the Howard County Council of Elders in collaboration with the HCPSS Black Student Achievement Program honor African-American students throughout the county for their academic excellence. A total of 189 Murray Hill Middle students were celebrated last night, and I could not be more proud of each and every one of them.

I come to you this week still shocked by the violent attack that took place in our nation’s capital on Wednesday. I am in agreement with our Superintendent, Dr. Martirano, that the acts of violence illustrate the importance of instruction on civic engagement and the role that each of us play in our government and upholding our democracy.

We still have many families who ordered the 2019-2020 Memory Book, but have not yet picked their Memory Book up from the school. We will facilitate another Memory Book pick-up next week. Please plan to come to the school on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday, between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

I want to highlight my pride in our student’s first quarter accomplishments. This week we emailed Honor Roll Certificates to over 440 students! 70 students earned Silver Honor Roll (all A’s, B’s, and one C); 181 students received Gold Honor Roll (all A’s and B’s) and 190 of our students earned Principal’s Honor Roll (all A’s). We are so very proud of our students, and I would like to encourage all of our students to strive to be a part of the MHMS Honor Roll during the second quarter.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held Monday, November 23rd through Wednesday, November 25th. Parents can schedule Virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences starting today through Thursday, November 19th.
Quarter 2 Transition

This is a reminder that the first quarter ends this Friday, November 6th. Students who are working towards completing any assignments that they may have missed during the first quarter, must submit those assignments by dismissal time (12:15 pm) on Friday afternoon.

Dear MHMS Families, Families please be reminded that the quarter ends on November 6th. Grades for all quarterly classes, which include Related Arts classes and Reading Modules will be finalized. November 6th, also marks the midpoint for all other courses.
