A Note From The Principal

Dear MHMS Families,

Report cards were distributed to all students today.  Please be sure to review your students third quarter progress with them.  It is a great time to recognize them for their accomplishments and set goals for the final quarter of the 2017-2018 school year.  We are excited for all of our students to finish the school year strong!

Thank you to all of the families who supported our Yankee Candle fundraiser.  We will be sure to publicize the date that are orders will be delivered, as soon as we get confirmation from the company.  Thank you also to the families who supported our MHMS Music Boosters Gift Card Bingo and our MHMS Fashion Show.  It was exciting to see so many families support our MHMS community.

Sincerely,

Lisa R. Smithson

Student Entrance:  It looks like SPRING is finally here!!!  During the cold winter months, we allowed students to enter the building starting at 8:05, and they were monitored in the cafeteria, by MHMS staff members.  Now that warmer weather seems to be here to stay, students will be asked to remain outside until the 8:15 a.m. bell rings.  Thank you for helping to remind your student of this seasonal change.

Story Strong Live Event:  Throughout the school year Ms. Schaefer’s 8th grade math classes have been defining their math identities. Students have been exploring their feelings about math, what makes them excited or frustrated about the subject, and how their stories have evolved. On Monday, April 30th, the annual Story Strong Live Event will take place at Long Reach High School from 6:30-8:00 PM. Many of our students’ projects will be displayed. One of our own students, Angel O., along with Ms. Schaefer have been chosen to speak at the event to share their stories. Please drop by to support our students and see what amazing work they have done all year.
