Movie Night:  Murray Hill Middle School’s Chapter of Global Equality Now is hosting a community movie night, featuring the film, Hidden Figures, in our cafeteria on Friday, May 18th, from 6:00p.m.-9:00 p.m.  The purpose of the event is to raise money for the School Girls Unite organization that will provide scholarships to middle-school aged girls in Mali.  Tickets to the movie night are $10, but one scholarship only costs about $80, so attendance (or a donation) means a lot.  Tickets cover the movie, pizza, bottled water, a small snack, and cookies, as well as a post-movie student-led discussion on the themes of education and equality.  Tickets can be purchased online at https://osp.osmsinc.com/HowardMD/BVModules/CategoryTemplates/Detailed%20List%20with%20Properties/Category.aspx?categoryid=DA065 Please consider bringing the whole family MHMS Movie Night.pdf

MHMS Enrichment Fair and Art Show:  Please join us for our Annual Enrichment Fair and Art Show on Wednesday, May 23rd starting at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  G.T. Research projects will be presented, our Jazz Band will perform, student art work will be on display, and a make and take arts and crafts table will be available.  This is intended to be a family event and we ask for parents/guardians to attend with their students.

8th Grade Information:

8th Grade Cruise Forms Due:  Permission slips and payment for the 8th Grade Cruise are due this Friday, May 18th. The Cruise will take place on Thursday, May 31st, during regular school hours. Attire for the trip is semi-formal (no mid-drifts or strapless outfits).  Forms are attached here (Cruise Student Permission Form 2018.pdf ) and are to be turned in to science teachers no later than this Friday. High School Visit Permission Slips:  Permission slips for the High School Visit are due by Friday, May 25th. The form is attached here (HS Visit Student Permission Form 2018.pdf ) and should be turned in to science teachers. The High School Visit will take place on Wednesday, June 6th, during the school day. Students will visit the school they are districted to attend next year.
